Tomato Mushroom Pesto Pizza on From Scratch Dough

We have made pizza before in the oven and on the grill and enjoyed it, but used a store bought dough when doing so.  It was a good dough that was made in the store and frozen, so at least it wasn’t a Pillsbury canister but not quite as good as fresh so we took that final part on.  Being our first time, we wanted to just go with a Basic Pizza Dough Recipe courtesy of the food network.  It was fun and easy to do it all ourselves despite living within close proximity to Aiello’s, the best pizza in the world.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwiches

We and especially I never make desserts so this is a real rarity.  I love oreos and would say they are my favorite manufactured cookie so the cookie sandwich idea is a big hit with me.  I also love the ice cream cookie sandwiches that look like this.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to reconstruct oreos and am always a sucker when I see cookie sandwiches at street table bakeries like the ones they have set up in the Strip on weekends.  The cookies or icing were not too difficult to make, but I was a little slow since I don’t have much experience in baking.

Gruyere and Broccoli Mac and Cheese

This is another holiday dish that was a big hit.  I have been making mac and cheese for years and it’s my first real dish that inspired all of this.  I actually got the original recipe in middle school cooking class.  For this occasion, I wanted to switch it up and make it a bit classier so along came Gruyere and broccoli!  It was sort of tough to decide what to name this to hit on all of the key parts without saying and, and, and.  In the end, I felt there and wasn’t and much and of a choice.  And.
