Chili Recipe – Cincinnati Style Inspired
4 lbs ground meat
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1 15oz can tomato sauce
1 15oz can tomato past
2 1.25oz packages of chili seasoning
1 cup cider vinegar
1 tbs cinnamon
1 tbs allspice
1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup water
4-6 jalapenos
large onion
preheat oven to 200 degrees
-brown meat rare to keep a bit of juice, drain and place into dutch oven or oven safe pot with a lid
-add all ingredients stirring as you go
-once well mixed, cover and place in the oven for 1 hour
Check and stir well every hour for a minimum of 4 hours, intensify heat if needed when nearing serving time
Serve with shredded cheese, fresh chopped onion, and sour cream condiments
