Gruyere and Broccoli Mac and Cheese Recipe

8tbsp Butter (1 stick)

2 tbsp chopped Garlic

2-3 chopped White Onions

tsp Salt and Pepper each

1/2 cup Flour

3 1/2 cups Milk

16 oz Macaroni

1 lb Gruyere Cheese

3-4 cups chopped Broccoli

Cook and drain macaroni noodles.  Try to time to be done close to when the sauce is.

-Melt butter in saucepan

-Add onions, garlic, salt, and pepper and saute until onions are soft

-Add flour and stir until brown and thick.  Watch for burning

-Stir in milk and continue to stir until smooth and bubbly

-Add grated or chopped cheese and stir until melted

-Add broccoli and stir with heat on for a few minutes to cook the broccoli a bit

-Combine sauce and macaroni and pour into a baking dish

Bake immediately or let cool and refrigerate until ready to be baked.  Bake at 350 degrees for about a half an hour, maybe a little longer if refrigerated.
